Understanding the Data Protection Act
SUMMARY The Data Protection Act 1998 came into force in March (E99 with updates in 2002 lasting until 2007 ). The legislation means that it is unlawful for any Company or individual to process any form of personal data until they have notified the Information Commissioner. This of course aims to provide a better understanding of the act and what the legal responsibilities are for the Company and its individual employees.
