Aim

The overall aim of the training course is to provide a basic introduction to the topic of equal opportunities, which can then be followed up by more in depth training on specific topics such as equal opportunities in recruitment and selection.

Objectives

By the end of the course you will have a better understanding of:-

• The meaning of equal opportunities and diversity, and their impact on your work
• The legislation covering equality of opportunity
• The importance of the use of appropriate language
• The links between the different oppressions and the meaning of institutional oppression
• Ways of challenging prejudice and discrimination
